Lisa P. Christian — Diverse Families, Cultures, Ethnicities, and Faith Traditions

Lisa’s shared journey includes people from diverse families, cultures, ethnicities, and faith traditions. She grew up in a Protestant, and more specifically, Pentecostal faith tradition, home. Her life’s journey has been shaped and formed by the belief that humanity is created in the Imago Dei. It is also influenced by her belief that God is a transcendent triune God who cares about His creation and is not merely an overseer or custodian but a God who pursues a relationship with humanity.

Her upbringing in the Chicagoland area, and later in Indiana, contributed significantly to her pursuit of Christian mission and cross-culture work. Lisa spent 15 years as a missionary in Russia and five years as a cross-cultural worker in the Middle East.

In Russia, Lisa developed a rudimentary theory that racial reconciliation must become a primary focal point in the American Christian Church if race relations in the United States are to improve. She is greatly influenced by the Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Upon returning to the United States, she began pursuing this supposition.

Individuals from a diversity of backgrounds continue to contribute to her journey, as well as her unwavering pursuit of a theological ideology that encapsulates the very essence of what it means for humanity to be created in the Imago Dei absent of the contrived notion of race.  (Email Lisa.)
