John Svensson — A Journey of Really Listening to Older Adults

For several years my journey has involved assisting fellow seniors with downsizing as they prepare to move to new living situations. For the most part these people feel overwhelmed whether they want to move or they are forced to move due to circumstances.

By hearing their journeys, it has allowed me to put my journey into a better perspective. Giving myself more credit for my accomplishments, not only my mistakes. I enjoy hearing how people got to where they are today. Really listening to what people are saying is appreciated by people whose contributions are often minimized or ignored.

I believe this experience has brought me closer to open up more about sharing details of my life. By example, I would hope to encourage people to consider bonding with seniors or other groups that may be of interest. (Email John.)
